Young people can ‘learn’ outside school – especially when working in the community.
Earlier this month, the Brownies were reported doing a really good deed:

The Brownies are of course part of the bigger family of scouts and guides – who were nominated several times for a Champions Award last year:
Sid Valley Scouts – and First Sid Vale Scout Group leaders
The Champions Awards 2021: the full and final list – Sustainable Sidmouth Champion Awards
The Brownies have their own HQ, though, next to the town council on Lawn Vista:

The Brownies get up to great things:
Brownies is about trying new things that teach girls aged seven to 10 about themselves, their community and their world
Brownies introduces girls to a world of new opportunities, challenges and fun. Girls go along to camps, holidays, day trips and sleepovers. They get together with their friends at regular meetings where they learn new hobbies, get creative, develop skills and have outdoor adventures. As well as trying activities in their meetings, girls choose from interest badges related to things they want to know more about.
Here’s one more of the great goings on by Brownies in the Sid Valley from this year:
Alexa Baker from Sidmouth Does Wear a Hat, said: “To encourage the walkers on their way we have the brownies and guides on hand…”
