Devon Recovery Learning Community champions

There is a great local network when it comes to helping with mental health:

Mental Health Support | Sid Valley HELP

Mental Health and Wellbeing – Sid Valley Practice

And one of these support groups they point to is the very accessible DRLC:

Welcome to the Devon Recovery Learning Community

A Recovery College provided by Devon Partnership NHS Trust to support mental health and wellbeing

Our students are people with experience of mental health difficulties, their family and friends, and the professionals who support them.

The DRLC offers a wide range of free, open access opportunities to learn about mental health and Recovery. We provide a unique curriculum of courses delivered online, in person or through a blended approach to learning, designed to increase your knowledge and equip you with the tools to live a meaningful, productive and fulfilling life.

Devon Recovery Learning Community – supporting you to learn to live well – Devon Recovery Learning Community

For example, this month, they are running online courses on how to manage our money better:

Pound-Stretching

There’s an online discussion group every week:

Thrive – Weekly Online Discussion

And next month an online course starts up looking at ‘upcycling’:

Students will gain knowledge over the 6 sessions by understanding the 5 ways to well-being whilst decoupaging. Each week students will upcycle household waste in the comfort of their home and transform them into beautiful empowering creative tools which will support their recovery journey.

Creative Upcycling for Wellbeing

Very much ‘education for sustainability, education for hope’!
