A Vision Group for Sidmouth project

The Vision Group for Sidmouth together with its partners have put together the annual Sustainable Sidmouth Champions Awards.

Welcome to the Sustainable Sidmouth Champions Awards!

The Champions Awards are all about recognising the amazing people, organisations and businesses who are making a real difference to the Sid Valley.

They are about acknowledging those who have acted to promote and improve the sustainability and resilience of the community.

2025: Eco Hub Sidmouth

Set up as part of the Climate Awareness Partnership Sidmouth, the inspiring Eco Hub Sidmouth project was seen by its founder Bernie Davis as a way to showcase all the active groups in the Sid Valley and to engage the wider public.

It launched in January 2025 with Exeter Community Energy @ the ECO HUB Sidmouth: offering free advice on keeping cosy, with the last of its first sessions in June 2025 Drawing from Nature @ Sidmouth Eco Hub – ‘looking at the natural world’ with local artists

Here’s a look at Eco Hub Sidmouth: the first six months.

And following Eco Hub Sidmouth: meeting Tuesday 26th August, there will be another set of sessions happening from September to December.

The 2025 Sustainable Sidmouth Champions Awards will be recognising the efforts of all those groups which have been involved in the Eco Hub Sidmouth.

2024: Recognising champions in our community!

The Sustainable Sidmouth Champions Awards have always been about recognising the efforts made by businesses, schools, groups and individuals in our community.

The NEWS pages of the Sustainable Sidmouth Champions Awards website carry special weekly insights into the projects and prizes in both the Sid Valley and the South West.

And on a daily basis, the Social Media pages carry further stories highlighting local efforts to build sustainable, resilient communities.

2023: Save money, save the planet!

The Champions Awards 2023 were about demonstrating what we can do to help ‘save the planet’ in some small, local way; about promoting the idea of transitioning to a more sustainable lifestyle; and about contributing positively to the future of the Sid Valley.

The Sustainable Sidmouth Champions Awards 2023 were presented at a certificate ceremony at Kennaway House, with the special Chair’s Award going to Heather Spratt. Photography by Kyle Baker.
