Showcasing sustainable schools: Sidmouth Primary

Sidmouth Primary School are very engaged in the great outdoors:

Last week Year 6 went on their residential trip to Dartmoor. The week consisted of learning basic skills…  as well as instructor led activities including caving, climbing, weaselling and mountain biking. The week away developed team working skills and resilience and every single child tried something new.

On Wednesday, the Nursery had a lovely trip to the Byes. We spent most of our time exploring the orchard and learning about how apples grow. We also found an abundance of other wildlife – flowers, butterflies, bees and even a caterpillar! We then finished the afternoon with a juicy apple snack in the shade overlooking the beautiful river and helped Mrs Tolson to retell our story – Handa’s Surprise.

Before the pandemic, the school set up the Eco Warriors – with the intention of reviving the group in the new academic year:

Welcome to the Sidmouth Primary School Eco Warriors Page. Here we hope to share lots of information with you about what we are doing and why we are doing it.
