This year, as part of their special 60th-anniversary celebrations, Otter Garden Centre, instead of the traditional free Christmas meal delivered on Christmas Day, will return to the original Betty Williams’ idea and will be hosting a free Christmas party organised explicitly for the elderly residents or couples in the Ottery Parish who may find themselves alone on Christmas Day. It’s a warm invitation to join the organisers on the 16th of December at 1.00 pm at Otter Garden Centre.

The Sidmouth Christmas Appeal 2024 has been launched by Rotary. This builds on the success from the last two years, with 2023 alone seeing the delivery of 1,200 presents to children, 100 hampers to families and the elderly, and gifts for community lunch attendees. The Rotary is asking for gifts for children up to the age of 16 and Christmas hamper products to be donated. These can be dropped off at Fields, Fords, Waitrose, the Post Office, Co-op, Gliddons, and The Works. Monetary donations can also be made via a QR code.
