The Sustainable Sidmouth Champions Awards 2026 will be happening at the end of the year – with an awards evening recognising all those who have contributed something to the Love Sidmouth 💚 project.

Denise Bickley has put together a ‘soft launch’ of the project with a new social media page – and has already had lots of interest.
Here’s her post from this afternoon where she addresses Dear all, just trying to get this going… a little bit of community gardening, neighbourhood strengthening, volunteering, making Sidmouth look lovely… any thoughts or feedback welcome!
With a longer posting where she looks at The problem and how this project might tackle it.
Here’s the post from earlier today showing us where to go to fill in a simple form to take part: Love Sidmouth 💚 | If you want to get a community going in your street, or for your business, or group, or want to register interest yourself to get involved more, please complete this form…
And Denise says she will complete it for Tyrrell Mead – the first area to enter!
Finally, this is Denise’s piece in this weekend’s Herald on this community collaboration project being launched in Sidmouth:
The idea invites groups, businesses, streets or neighbourhoods to form caring teams who will help show Sidmouth at its best by undertaking light gardening and small improvement projects.
It is not intended to replace council responsibilities, but to supplement areas where a little care will make a big difference.
Do join in if you’d like to make a difference – and to show you Love Sidmouth!
