Last June, Sidmouth’s Colin Trussell was declared winner of the Arts & Culture East Devon’s inaugural ACED Volunteer of the Year award for his work with the Sidmouth Folk Festival:
The announcement was made at the ACED network’s summer meeting at the Gateway Theatre, Seaton. Colin was honoured with a beautiful glass award, created by contemporary fused glass artist, Susan Purser Hope.
On winning his award, Colin Trussell said: “I’m genuinely astonished and humbled. I think the amount of effort and work that the other nominated volunteers have put in is so awe-inspiring. I would like accept this on behalf of all volunteers not only the volunteers at Sidmouth Folk Festival, but all volunteers who give up their time. Without them, we just couldn’t put on our arts and culture events. To everyone who thought I was worthy of this award – thank you.”
