Swimming pools need a lot of energy – which is very costly in more ways than one.
Some five years ago, the council agreed to finance new technologies at Sidmouth pool to reduce those costs:

Earlier this year, further investments were made – looking to ‘free energy’ to heat the pool at Exmouth:
Deep Green, a British start-up has unveiled Exmouth Swimming Pool as one of the first sites for a technology that supplies free heat, which reduces energy bills and will cut the reliance on carbon-intensive fossil fuel boilers.
Let’s hope the technology proves itself – and is also transferred to Sidmouth!
